Khum Tom Yam Goong Restaurant, Cha-Am

Lisons Higgy...

This is the name of a restaurant, in a small village south of Cha-Am, highly recommended by a member of Hua Hin After Dark, the local forum for expats.

I was conquered by the place. It is calm and resting but I have to say that this is low season right now. The decor is deliciously kitch and the persons very friendly and attentive. Cherry on the cake : this restaurant has the most extensive menus I've never seen in this area with lots of Thai dishes as well as westerner classics. And prices are more than reasonnable.

Let's read Higgy...

My personal favourite Restaurant is just outside Cha Am and is behind the Regent Hotel. If you are coming from Cha Am go past the entrance for the Hotel and take the next left where you see a yellow sala and follow the round into the small village, turn right at the crossroads and it is on your left, you can park at the side.

The place is called Tom Yum Gung Restaurant and whilst it is open air the decor is very good with beautiful table and chairs. They have what has to be one of the most extensive menus you will see anywhere with both Thai and Western food and some oddities like Crockodile,Osrich and Deer on the menu, tried the Cockodile which was delicious. The owner is a nice Thai guy who will tell you where all the food comes from.

Prices are fantastic for food and drink, 40 Bt for a Singha and 80 Bt for a Magarita. Another place I visit a lot is Aroi Restaurant which is 200 mtrs before you get to Crawfords on the same side.Thai food here is always good but they do the best English breakfast in Cha Am IMHO. for 100 B.
