Prachuab Kirikhan, une ville endormie - Prachuab Kirikhan, a sleepy town

C'est à une bonne heure de route au sud de Hua Hin que se trouve Prachuab Kirikhan, la capitale de la province. C'est une ville qui a le charme désuet des petites ville de Thaïlande qui ne sont pas encore envahies par le tourisme. Pour moi, Prachuab Kirikhan c'est cette baie magnifique avec à sa gauche un temple magnifique situé au sommet d'un piton. Sur la partie nord de la baie, les bateaux de pêcheurs squattent la plage.

Il ne faut pas aller à Prachuab Kirikhan sans avoir goûté à la spécialité locale: le Pla samli, un poisson ouvert en 2, séché au soleil puis frit au wok, servi avec une salade de mangue verte épicée. Un vrai régal...

It's a good hour drive south of Hua Hin that Prachuab Kirikhan is. This is the capital of the province. Un petit restaurant comme je les aime - A small restaurant that I like

Il existe à Hua Hin des endroits sans prétention, sympathiques, où on se sent immédiatement très bien. Ce petit restaurant en fait partie. C'est un endroit simple, voire humble. La carte y est restreinte: 5 plats. L'équipement est au minimum: un frigo et un wok, 3 tables pour la clientèle. Et pourtant, on s'y sent bien. Le sourire et la gentillesse des 2 jeunes femmes qui tiennent l'endroit y est certainement pour beaucoup. Nous nous sommes partagé, Michèle et moi, un Khao pad goong (riz sauté aux crevettes), une omelette et un Som tam thai (salade de papaye au crabe). Des portions copieuses pour un prix plus que correct.

Dernière précision, c'est au croisement de la Soi 102 et du chemin de fer.

There are places in Hua Hin, unpretentious, friendly, where you immediately feel very good. This small restaurant is one. It is a simple, even humble one. The menu is limited: 5 courses. The equipment is minimal: a fridge and a wok, 3 tables for customers. Nonetheless, this is a place where you feel good. The smile and the kindness of two young women who keep the place is certainly for many. We shared, Michele and I, a Khao pad goong (fried rice with shrimp), an omelet and a Som tam Thai(papaya salad with crab). Hearty portions for a price more than correct.
Final clarification, it is at the intersection of Soi 102 and the railroad.
